Wing Lake Developmental Center
Wing Lake staff is extremely proud of their reputation for providing quality educational programming for students with special needs. Wing Lake services Oakland County students with severe cognitive impairments (SCI) and severe multiple impairments (SXI) from three through twenty-six years of age. The school is open for instruction year round. Operating costs are covered through a combination of a countywide special education levy and state funding provided to resident school districts. The program is operated by the Bloomfield Hills School District. Eligible students reside within the 28 resident public school districts in Oakland County.
Extensive Educational Programming
Wing Lake provides extensive educational programming, which includes speech, physical, and occupational therapy as well as music, gym class, swimming and hydrotherapy.
Student Opportunities
Wing Lake students have the opportunity to participate in Student Council, Special Olympics, Field Day, prom, pep rallies, musical events, as well as seasonal celebrations.
Exceptional Staff
Wing Lake staff not only provide best-practice teaching techniques but also engage students in learning in a fun and caring environment that encourages safety and a joy for learning.

Bloomfield Hills High School
If your child will be five-years-old by September 1, it's time to start preparing for Kindergarten and Developmental Kindergarten. This session is an excellent opportunity for adults to learn about Kindergarten in Bloomfield Hills Schools.
Kindergarten enrollment begins February 1, 2024.
Hispanic Heritage Month runs September 15 through October 15 and presents an opportunity for students to learn about the rich history and culture of Hispanic people.
Wing Lake Health and Wellness Policy
We are searching for an SCI Teacher and four Instructional Assistant's to join our Amazing team!
The Wing Lake PTO (Parent Teacher Organization) is a group of dedicated parents/guardians who meet montly to support our school in whatever way we can We are always looking for more families to get involved!
Volunteer background checks must be completed annually!
Please be advised that ALL volunteers, including parents assisting with events and/or attending field trips, need to have a background check completed prior to volunteering.
